The former fishing village is located on the Danish Wohld peninsula between Eckernförde Bay and Kiel Fjord. In addition to sport boats, the small harbor houses some fishing boats, from which the fishermen sell their goods to the surrounding gastronomy after they have been successfully caught. It doesn’t get any fresher.
The beaches border the harbor to the north and south. Hiking trails and beach bays stretch as far as Eckernförde and Kiel.
The hinterland shines in a rich yellow in spring when the rape blossoms. It is characterized by villages, a hilly landscape, hedgerows and small forests. On water or on land – there is a lot going on here: sailing, surfing, swimming, jogging, cycling or horse riding.
If you want to pay a visit to the state capital, you can also do this by bike. 20 km along the coastline, among others. about the former Olympic village and the Schilksee harbor.
If the way back is too difficult for you, you can take one of the steamers back to Strande by water.
Eckernförde is easy to reach with its picturesque old town, the small shops and the weekly market, which is well-known beyond the borders.
